First Batch of Ph.D. candidates oriented at CARISCA.

Newly admitted Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) candidates have been taken through a full orientation session at the Center for Applied Research and Innovation in Supply Chain-Africa (CARISCA). The Orientation took place at the KNUST School of Business (KSB) Auditorium on 15th September 2020.

The Orientation session was designed to facilitate the transition of candidates into the Center and equip them with the necessary knowledge, values information and skills needed for the duration of their degree program.

In his opening remarks, Mr Anthony Adjapong, Registrar- KSB, congratulated candidates for gaining admission into the program and for moving a step closer to achieving their academic ambitions. He urged participants to take the orientation seriously as it would enlighten them on the admission procedure, regulations governing the processing of thesis, what is expected and the KSB system in general.

The Dean of KSB, Professor Nathaniel Boso who also functions as the Principal Investigator of CARISCA, welcomed participants to the Center. He noted that research done by the candidates would be translated into possible solutions to help solve problems related to the Supply Chain Management in Ghana and beyond

Professor Boso stressed the need for candidates to be focused and punctual to programs organized by the Center and consequently by the KSB. He charged candidates to be determined, diligent and build a cordial relationship between their supervisors and urged them to be abreast with current issues and avoid unnecessary information.

Candidates embarked on a tour to the Center and the KSB to view the Ph.D. cluster set up for them.

Programs offered by the Center are run by the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology School of Business (KSB). The School is fitted with ultra-modern facilities as well as has qualified and competent faculty to direct students in the course of their studies.
