The Center for Applied Research and Innovation in Supply Chain- Africa (CARISCA) has organised an orientation session for Research Assistants (RAs) of the Center on 15th September 2020 at the KNUST School of Business (KSB) Auditorium. This was done to inform and spell out the roles and duties expected from the Research Assistants by the Center. The RAs were taken through the terms of engagement, communication ethics and formally introduced to the CARISCA project.
Professor Nathaniel Boso, Principal Investigator- CARISCA, introducing participants to the project, noted that the project is research-intensive and oriented; therefore research assistants play a key role in the realisation of the aims and objectives set out for the project. He mentioned that CARISCA would serve as a training ground as Research Assistants would be taken through a series of workshops and training sessions to further equip them for their work. He advised them to work hard and a build a strong work relationship with the Senior Technical Advisors on the project.
He further tasked them to use the opportunity given to upgrade their research capacity and urged them to be purpose-driven, hardworking and dedicated to their work.
Professor Boso, in his final remarks, congratulated participants on their appointments. He advised them to be punctual, have a positive attitude towards their work, and always act with courtesy and respect at all times.
After the session, participants embarked on a tour at the Center to view their office spaces and equipment.
