APPLICATIONS are invited from suitably qualified PERSONS for appointment as Technical Manager and Administrative Manager at the CARISCA Innovations Lab within KNUST School of Business. The appointment is a full-time position.
Qualification and Experience
Minimum qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Information Technology, Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field with a minimum of 2 years experience in computer programming.
Desired Experience/Knowledge/Skills Requirements
- Strong expertise in web development using HTML, CSS and JavaScript
- Strong expertise in front end development using modern libraries such as Bootstrap, d3, React, AngularJS etc.
- Experience with backend development using languages like PHP, Java, C# and Python
- Experience with using Arduino for interactive hardware and software projects
- Experience with MVC frameworks such as Laravel, Flask, Django & ASP.NET
- Experience building and deploying RESTful APIs and web services
- Experience building and deploying USSD and IVR (Interactive Voice Recognition) Applications
- Strong understanding of user-interface and user-experience design principles
- Strong knowledge of interactive web design software and coding
- Experience in data modelling, unstructured data, relational databases, SQL, big data and NoSQL databases
- Experience with mobile application design and development
- Experience with Office applications (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while meeting deadlines

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensuring that technological resources meet the Lab’s short and long-term needs.
- Setting a vision for how technology will be used in the Lab.
- Creating timelines for the development and deployment of all technological services.
- Making decisions for the Lab’s technological requirements.
- Acting as a mentor to team members.
- Maintaining a consumer-focused outlook and aiding in the delivery of innovative projects to market.
- Managing technology budgets and time frames.
- Staying on top of technology trends and developments.
- Ensuring all technology practices adhere to regulatory standards.
- Overseeing all system design and changes in system architecture
Qualification and Experience
Minimum qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or Human Resources Management. A specialisation in Business/Management Information Technology will be an added advantage. Successful applicants must also have a minimum of 2 years experience in project development, project management, software development, infrastructure management and/or release/deployment management.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist senior management to outline the goals for research and development in the Lab.
- Provide administrative support to innovation teams, the technical manager and senior management in the Lab
- Arrange both internal and external events
- Keep records and reports up to date
- Help maintain the budget plan
- Organize and schedule meetings and events
- Supervise other staff and delegate responsibilities
- Carry out clerical duties, including answering phones and preparing documents
