Mrs. Stella Addo is a Procurement and Supply Chain Specialist with over 28 years’ experience, who has contributed to the development of the Procurement profession in Ghana in diverse ways in various capacities as a Procurement Specialist, Project Manager & Procurement Advisor, with Crown Agents, and a Procurement Specialist at the Funds & Procurement Management Unit (FPMU) of the Ministry of Education, and resigned in 2017 as the Head of Procurement (HOP) of Fidelity Bank to take up her current position as the Country Manager of CIPS, UK- Ghana.
She has also served as a resource person & speaker on webinars and seminars organized by various Institutions in East &West Africa (i.e. Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Uganda, S.A, Middle East etc.
She has won the following awards:
- Outstanding contribution to Procurement Professionalization (2019)
- Outstanding contribution to Procurement and Supply Chain (2018)
- Top 20 Procurement Professionals (2018)
In 2019 she was appointed by the Minster in Charge for Public Procurement (Hon Adwoa Sarfo) to Chair the Ethics Committee in charge of producing a Standardized Code of Ethics for the Public Sector Procurement.
She holds a Diploma in Estate Management from KNUST and an Executive Masters in Project Management (EMBA) from the University of Ghana. She is a Chartered Procurement Professional of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (UK) and a fellow of the Institute.
She was appointed the first Country Manager for CIPS UK – Ghana in 2018 and awarded Fellowship of the Institute FCIPS- the highest qualification of the Institute. This makes her the First Woman Branch- Chair, the First Woman Fellow, and the First Country Manager of the Institute in Ghana. In the same year, she was also awarded the fellow of the Institute of Project Management Professionals (FIPMP) due to her numerous contributions in project management.
She worked on the following Projects whilst with Crown Agents
- Bill and Melinda Gate Foundation (SNV as a Procurement Advisor to review Procurement Practices & Funds Flow of the Ghana School Feeding program (August –September 2012)
- DFID as a Procurement specialist to conduct Procurement Audit of the Procurement & Contract management practices of the Ministry of Education for Text books and Teacher Guide. (June –July 2013)
- Department of International Development (DFID) funds to Ministry of Finance, Public Procurement Authority (PPA) projects. as Procurement Specialist, conducted Procurement audit for Database of Min of Finance on procurement practices and use of donor funds for Works, Goods and Services Jan –Feb 2014
- Japanese Grant Aids to Ghana as (Project Manager) for Crown Agent from Sept 2010 – Jan 2014: on three (3) donor grants i.e. (1) Clean Energy Preservation (Nouguch Institute) (2) Capacity to Cope with National Disaster caused by Climate Change (NADMO) (3) Forest Reservation Program (Forestry Commission)
She served as the first Board Chair for J.S.A Logistics Ghana Ltd and after successful completion and outstanding performance she was appointed as the Advisory Board Chair for the Technical and Logistics group of the Jospong Group of Companies (Overseeing 8 Companies)
She also serves on various Committee in the review of Syllabus for Tertiary Institutions in Ghana. She is also a resource person for KNUST on CARISCA Project funded by USAID.
