Join the conversation at CARISCA’s first Supply Chain Research Summit. The virtual conference will consist of four keynote presentations, six sessions, two panel discussions, and a dissertation award session for the best supply chain dissertation.

The goal of the conference is to exchange and share knowledge about supply chain research in Africa and showcase some of the best supply chain knowledge and practices. The conference is for academics, practitioners, policymakers, and students.

Martin Christopher has been at the forefront of the development of new thinking in logistics and supply chain management for almost fifty years.  His contribution to the theory and practice of logistics and supply chain management is reflected in the many international awards that he has received. His published work is widely cited by other scholars and has influenced many practitioners.

At Cranfield School of Management, one of the world’s premier business schools, Martin Christopher helped build the Centre for Logistics, Supply Chain Management and Procurement into a leading centre of excellence. Under his leadership, the Centre became one of the foremost focal points for innovative teaching and research in logistics and supply chain management.  Now, after leading the Centre for over twenty years, Martin Christopher has become an Emeritus Professor.

As Senior Vice President at Zipline, Daniel Marfo is leading the efforts to bring instant delivery of medical and blood products all over Africa.

Prior to this role, Daniel Marfo led Zipline to deploy the world’s largest national scale autonomous medical drone system in Ghana, where essential health commodities such as blood products, vaccines, and life-saving medication are available for just-in-time delivery to 2000 health facilities across the country.

Daniel Marfo has worked extensively in management positions for big pharmaceutical companies, including Johnson & Johnson and Sandoz, where he helped set up their regulatory and market access units across West Africa. He is a TEDx Speaker and is passionate about using technology to solve as many of Africa’s healthcare challenges as possible.

Daniel Marfo is a pharmacist by training with over 10 years of experience in the healthcare and technology industries. He has spent a better part of that 10 years building and leading teams to undertake some of the most daring and impactful projects in Africa.

Chris Ogbechie is a Professor of Strategic Management and the Dean at Lagos Business School, Pan-Atlantic University. He is also a visiting professor at Strathmore Business School, Nairobi, Kenya. He has vast experience in marketing, strategy, and corporate governance derived from his work as Head of Marketing/Sales at Nestle Nigeria and his consulting work with Nigerian, Ghanaian, and Kenyan firms. 

Professor Ogbechie teaches strategy, sustainability, and corporate governance at the Lagos Business School and Strathmore Business in Nairobi, Kenya; he is also the founding Director of the School’s Sustainability Centre. His research interests are in strategy in turbulent environments, strategic leadership, board effectiveness, and corporate sustainability. He has several publications in financial services marketing, strategic planning, corporate social responsibility, and corporate governance. Besides teaching and researching, he is involved in community service and philanthropy.

Prashant Yadav is a globally recognized scholar in the area of healthcare supply chains. He is a Senior Fellow at the Center for Global Development, Affiliate Professor at INSEAD and Lecturer at Harvard Medical School. He is the author of many peer-reviewed scientific publications and his work has been featured in prominent print and broadcast media. In addition to his roles in academia and think tanks, Prashant Yadav serves on the boards of many companies and a venture fund.

In his previous roles, he worked as Strategy Leader-Supply Chain at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation; Vice President of Healthcare at the William Davidson Institute and Faculty at the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan; Professor of Supply Chain Management at the MIT-Zaragoza International Logistics Program. He has also provided expert testimony on medical supply chains on multiple occasions in prominent legislative bodies around the world, including the US Congress. Prashant Yadav trained as a Chemical Engineer and obtained his PhD in Management Science and Operations Research. He lives in Bethesda, MD, in the USA.
