The CARISCA Project Team

The CARISCA Project team brings expertise in supply chain management, assessment, training and learning, inclusion, and project management. We will leverage the combined experience to realize the vision of KNUST as a source of supply chain expertise in Ghana and regionally, creating inclusive training and educational programs that empower a diverse group of supply chain professionals and building a local, regional and global network of partners. These efforts can transform the supply chain in Ghana, creating numerous positive impacts on systems, communities, and individuals.

Nathaniel Boso - Principal Investigator, Director of CARISCA

Nathaniel Boso, Director of CARISCA, provides overall oversight and leadership of the CARISCA Centre at KNUST. [Bio] [Google Scholar]

Kekeli Adonu - Director of Monitoring, Evaluation, Research and Learning

Kekeli Adonu is responsible for creating CARISCA’s monitoring, evaluation research and learning (MERL) plan and reporting progress toward reaching key performance indicators and project outcomes. [Bio]

Amos Ato Eghan - Director of Operations

As director of operations for CARISCA, Amos Ato Eghan is responsible for directing and coordinating activities, managing the CARISCA KNUST administration, expense control and staff management. He also ensures that CARISCA KNUST activities and expenditures comply with the cooperative agreement.

Martin Mawutor Agbodzi - Research and Training Coordinator

Martin Agbodzi is responsible for managing CARISCA research and training activities in collaboration with center partners and ensuring the inclusive participation of disadvantaged groups.

Matilda Owusu-Bio - Senior Technical Advisor

Matilda Owusu-Bio is a lecturer in the Department of Supply Chain and Information Systems. Her research focus is in supply chain management, humanitarian logistics, and the gender dynamics within these business management fields. [Google Scholar]

John Manso Frimpong - Senior Technical Advisor

John Manso Frimpong, lecturer in supply chain, coordinates KNUST’s executive/professional training programs in procurement, logistics, and supply chains and will expand these programs under CARISCA.

John Serbe Marfo - Senior Technical Advisor

John Serbe Marfo, Lecturer in Supply Chain, brings extensive research and consulting experience and is responsible for developing strategies and leading research on healthcare supply chain innovation and technology. [Bio

Abdul Samed Muntaka - Senior Technical Advisor

Abdul Samed Muntaka, Lecturer in Supply Chain. He is responsible for developing strategies and leading research on agriculture supply chain innovation and coordinating all academic programs at the CARISCA Centre. [Bio]

Collins Boakye Dankwa - Centre Manager​

Collins Boakye Dankwa is the Centre Manager for CARISCA. He is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Centre, managing work plans and budgets, mentoring staff and supporting students and faculty, and developing stakeholder relationships that are key to CARISCA’s success. [Bio]

Evans Kwasi Ankomah, Jr. - Client Relations Manager

Evans Kwasi Ankomah Junior plays an important role in building and maintaining strong relationships with CARISCA’s students, partners and stakeholders. He is responsible for successfully executing strategies to help ensure CARISCA’s long-term sustainability. [Bio]

Elsie Konadu Addae - Events and Logistics Manager

Elsie Konadu Addae manages administrative activities and processes in support of project events, workshops and meetings. In particular, she oversees event logistics, cost tracking and vendor negotiations. [Bio]

Christa Nyameye Agyemang - Assistant Communications Director

Christa Nyameye Agyemang helps manage project communications. Her responsibilities include creating promotional materials, maintaining content on the CARISCA website at KNUST, overseeing compliance with CARISCA’s branding and marking plan and contributing to the project newsletter.

Benjamin Ashong - Information Technology Officer

Benjamin Ashong oversees information technology to ensure the smooth running of CARISCA activities. He is responsible for the design and deployment of all IT systems and services.

Owusu Acheampong - Centre Accountant​

Owusu Acheampong is responsible to the Centre Director for the financial administration of CARISCA ensuring all expenses are allowable and have proposer documentation and justification, the timely submission of invoices and tracking project expenses and cost share to date.

Priscilla Adusei - Accounting Assistant

Priscilla Adusei assists the accountant with the financial administration of CARISCA. In this role, she documents, tracks, keeps records and runs reports of all financial transactions.

Martha Makafui Adzraku - Accounting Assistant

Martha Adzraku assists the accountant with the financial administration of CARISCA. 

Nana Ama Tawiah - Career Services Manager

Nana Ama Tawiah manages the Career Services Office, which helps prepare KNUST business students for the job market and links them to Ghanaian and international employers. The office also coordinates internship programs and provides mentoring and career counseling services.

Felicity Aseidu-Appiah - Career Services Technical Consultant

As technical consultant for CARISCA’s Career Services Office, Felicity Aseidu-Appiah analyzes office practices and offers recommendations to improve its effectiveness. She also is an associate professor in KNUST School of Business’ Department of Human Resource and Organizational Development.

Michelle Frempong - Career Services Fellow

Michelle Frempong provides personalized career counseling and activities for KNUST business students in her role as fellow in the Career Services Office.

Bridget Maame Dentu - Career Services Assistant

Bridget Maame Dentu coordinates the daily operations of the Career Services Office and provides clerical support to the office manager.

Robert Aidoo - Research Faculty​

Robert Aidoo focuses on Agricultural supply chain activities in Ghana and a member of Components 2 and 3. He specialises in the development and functionality of agricultural commodity value chains and hopes to bring his vast experience in agricultural/agribusiness research to bear on CARISCA activities.

Priscilla Kolibea Mante - Research Faculty​

Priscilla Kolibea Mante is a senior lecturer at the Department of Pharmacology at KNUST. Priscilla, who has a PhD in Pharmacology, is also a Pharmacist with a specialization in neuropharmacology and several years’ experience with health commodity selection, quantification, procurement, and quality assurance. Emmanuel Kweku Quansah - Research Faculty​

Emmanuel Anin - Research Faculty

Emmanuel Kwabena Anin is a senior lecturer at Kumasi Technical University (KsTU) and a research associate at the Regional Transport Research and Education Centre at KNUST. His research interests span interfirm relationship governance, strategic purchasing, supply chain integration and procurement audit. His current research focuses on sustainability and resilience in small and medium-sized enterprises.

Richard Boso - Research Faculty

Richard Boso is a lecturer at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA). His research interests include green supply chain management, policy/program impact evaluation, demand forecasting and inventory modelling, and CSR in the mining industry.

Henry Ataburo - Research Faculty

Henry Ataburo is a research fellow under the O.R. Tambo Africa Research Chair Initiative at the KNUST School of Business. Driven by problem-solving, he takes a keen interest in providing solutions to operational bottlenecks through research focusing on supply chain operations strategy, resilience (i.e., related supply chain disruptions/vulnerabilities) and sustainability.

Stephen Boakye Frimpong is the Administrative manager for the Center for Applied Research in Supply Chain Africa’s Innovations Lab at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. He is a self-motivated, dependable Entrepreneur experienced in providing encouragement and direction to current and future students willing to apply what they learn to solve societal problems.

Jesse Anim - Technical Manager (Innovations Lab)

Jesse Anim is the Technical Manager at CARISCA’s Innovations Lab. He is passionate about working with young people to identify and develop original solutions to supply chain issues.

Dale Rogers - Executive Director and Principal Investigator

Dale Rogers is the ON Semiconductor Professor of Business in Supply Chain Management and Director of the Frontier Economies Logistics Lab. Dale is a leading researcher in reverse logistics, sustainable supply chain management, supply chain finance and secondary markets. Adegoke Oke - Senior Technical Advisor and Component 1 Co-Lead

Adegoke Oke, Professor of Supply Chain Management, is a global authority on supply chain disruptions in developing countries and serves as ASU faculty for the MasterCard Foundation Scholars in partnership with KNUST. [Bio] [Google Scholar]

Thomas Choi - Senior Technical Advisor and Component 2 Co-Lead​

Tom Choi is an ASU professor and Co-Director of ASU’s Complex Adaptive Supply Networks Research Accelerator (CASN-RA), studies the upstream side of supply chains and guides research strengthening activities. [Bio] [Google Scholar]

Mohan Gopalakrishnan - Senior Technical Advisor

Mohan Gopalakrishnan is senior associate dean for the W. P. Carey School of Business and a professor of Supply Chain Management. He is an expert in health and humanitarian supply chains and guides governance and curriculum.[Bio] [Google Scholar]

Katy Keane - Senior Technical Advisor

Katy Keane is a lecturer in Supply Chain Management at ASU. She provides technical assistance on forecasting, inventory planning, and business processes in supply chains and advising on the development of the CPE curriculum for CARISCA. [Bio]

Joseph Van Orden Senior Technical Advisor and Component 3 Co-Lead

Joseph Van Orden is a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Supply Chain Management. He teaches classes in logistics, operations management, quality, statistics and supply chain management. He has published articles in health care operations and innovation. Additionally, he consults with companies designing supply chain solutions for their customers. [Bio]

Roseanne Schuster - Senior Technical Advisor and Component 4 Co-Lead

Roseanne Schuster is an Assistant Research Scientist and Director of Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning for the Global Impact Collaboratory. She specializes in evaluation and health systems environments, advises monitoring and evaluation activities, and provides technical assistance on the last-mile needs of health systems and health workers. Barby Grant - Senior Director of Communications

Barby Grant oversees all communication and marketing efforts including publications, email communications, the website, social media, public relations and events. [Bio]

Dace Mahanay Director of Capacity Strengthening and Private-Sector Engagement

Dace Mahanay provides technical direction in capacity strengthening for ASU’s Ghanaian partner, KNUST; oversees the operational aspects of the capacity strengthening approach, and drives private sector engagement to ensure the long-term sustainability of CARISCA.
